Happy, Happy Colors

Spring has sprung!  So I did a little discount shopping last week, with coupons of course, I don't leave home without them. Why pay full price when you don't have too is what I say! Today, having some girl time with a great friend, more discount shopping at our new Stein Mart, and then off to a nice lunch.  What a great way to spend a Spring day.

There are so many pretty colors for this season of Spring, and I can't wait to wear them all.  I was so excited about my finds, that I didn't pair them with anything, I just threw them on my form to show you.

I have been wanting a kimono since last year, well I finally found one at Dressbarn.  Floral Kimono was $25.00 got 20% off.
Love this pale coral/pink, long top with stitching detail and chiffon shirttail at TJMaxx for $19.99.
I love yellow, it's so happy, sunny and bright.  Long, sleeveless top with zipper detail was $34.00, with 20% off $27.20.
I don't have a lot of green in my wardrobe, so I thought why not, you have a Dressbarn coupon. Kelly Green Popover Top was $34.00, with 20% off $27.20.
And you can never go wrong with turquoise.  Long top with chiffon shirttail and zipper at detail at TJMaxx for $19.99.

Twenty - Two Bucks

I get bored easily with things around the house, small home decor specifically.  For this reason, I don't like to spend a lot of money on these types of things.  I try to stay neutral in my purchases, but sometimes I go overboard because something is cute, or I can't pass it up because of a sale.  When this happens, I still do good with the things "I got bored with" and either send them to the thrift store (they donate all proceeds to charity), or I have a yard sale and donate to me, hahaha!

I wanted to change out the guest bathroom with colors that flow with the rest of the house.  So I went to Ross, got lucky enough to find what I was looking for, and only spent $22 to change the room.  I didn't have to paint either, good day for me.

I purchased the curtain on the left at IKEA for the redo back in 2013.  I purchased the new shower curtain, in a dark teal swirl pattern for $12.99, and it came with roller ball hooks, love them, and a shower liner too, SCORE for me!
Switched out the old green towels for light turquoise ones that I already had tucked away.
I also had the ribbed light turquoise bath towels tucked away, I found them on clearance at TJMaxx.
The new turquoise and cream runner was $8.99 at Ross, it replaced a red and beige runner.  So in a matter of 15 minutes, room complete.

A Little Spring In My Step!

Well, it's supposed to be Spring but you wouldn't know it by looking out the window and feeling the temperatures when you walk outside.  It's currently 45 degrees, damp, and the sun is nowhere in sight.  What kind of Spring is this!? I want the sun, I need the sun (vitamin D deficient).  This weather has got me down, so what do I do all day since I have to be inside?  I at least try to make myself feel better and put a little spring in my step, by going into my happy place, my closet.  I spend time in there putting together some outfits to grab when I am in a hurry to get dressed and go (once the sun finally shows it's face!!!)
I had my eyes on this car length coat for a few weeks at Marshall's, but didn't want to pay the price.  It was originally being sold for $110, Marshall's was selling it for $59.99, too high for me, it was reduced to $39.00, waited it out and finally picked it up on the clearance rack for $29.00, YAY for me, and it fits perfect!

Turquoise Jewelry

This necklace caught my eye while I was shopping at Kohl's last week  It's a mix of turquoise and carnelian stones, silver and gold metal beads and chains.  I matched it up with a pair of earrings and a bracelet with a leather tie, also from Kohl's.  And of course all were on sale.
Green and white pin dot and blue stripe fringed scarf was $5.00 at Walmart.

Clear Out Of The Way, There's a Clearance Rack!

Checked out the jewelry clearance rack at Kohl's this past weekend.  Lot's of good things on those racks, and inexpensive too.  Dig deep, spend some time there, you never know what you will find.  I used my Kohl's cash, I had $30 worth, a 20% off coupon for my entire purchase, and some items were discounted more at the register.  Gotta love a sale at Kohl's.

Two pair of Vera Wang earrings (love her jewelry!).  Both originally $18.00 each, marked down to $5.40 each, I paid $4.05 for each pair.
Turquoise Mixed Media Bracelet, originally $20.00, got it  for $13.00.
The signet necklace was originally $50.00, on sale for $5.00 and 20% off of that, got it for $4.00!
Western Silver Metal Cabochon necklace, original price $38.00, on sale for $7.60, I got it for $5.70.
The silver disk earrings, original price $20.00, on sale for $6.00, I got them for $4.50.
All tallied up, this jewelry would have cost, at the original prices, $164.00.  I purchased it for $35.30!  Ladies, never pay full price.  If you see something you like, wait for it to go on sale, get coupons and discounts, then buy it.

It's An Accessories Thing

"A thing that can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile, or attractive."
That is the meaning of the word accessories.

They don't always have to be a bright color, but do have to have interest.  Accessories keep the eye moving.  If you see someone with something interesting on, you kind of check out the rest of their outfit.  Accessories are not just jewelry, they are handbags, shoes, hats, scarves, belts and some clothing can be an accessory.  Jewelry is an attention grabbing accessory.  Something big, bold, or sparkly, always catches the eye and draws people to your face.  And remember, it doesn't always have to be matchy, matchy, it just has to GO with the rest of your outfit.  And layer your jewelry, it will look great!
