My Boyfriend's Back!

OMG! I am sick of this weather. Snow, snow and more snow. Almost everyday there is some kind of snow.  I was tired of being couped up in the house, braved the cold and did a  little coupon shopping. I never leave home without them, my handbag actually has a neat and organized coupon envelope in it, so I always have them with me.  As soon as they arrive in the mail, I cut them out and they get stashed in my handbag.  I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans at Dressbarn and I love the fit, they are perfect and can be paired with anything.  Check them out.

More Fun Fashion

Blues and black go together so well, I think it's because black makes blue pop out.  I don't usually see things like this when I am wearing it, but when I see it in a picture it makes sense to pair them together.  I don't consider myself a fashionista, just a person who likes color and clothes.  I have learned over the years, by watching and reading, how to pair things together and wear them.  Now, if I see an outfit in a store or on someone and it's not my style, too trendy or too young but I love the colors, I will put together my outfit just using the colors.

I always try to look my best when I go out in public and dress appropriately.  You don't ever have to look your age, but wearing a mini skirt when you're in you're late 50's or 60's is not cool, I don't care how in shape you are, leave it for the younger set and lower your hemline! Rock a leather jacket instead of the mini skirt! Listen, you don't have to look frumpy when you are in the upper ages, just have great style and a sense of what looks good on you.

Blue Jeans Times Two

I have been a clothes hog since I had my first job in high school.  I would spend almost my whole paycheck on clothes, shoes, jewelry and handbags.  I still love clothes, but try to get more out of my pieces with creative ways to wear them. I took a dark wash pair of skinny jeans and paired them two ways.  Check them out.

Dark Skinny Jeans, Grey T- Shirt, Camel Leather Jacket, Red and Navy Flats, Red Bead and Metal Necklace and Red and Ivory Twisted Rope Bracelet.
Dark Skinny Jeans - rolled up, Coral Lace Tank Top, Oatmeal Sweater, Iridescent Silver Bead Chain Necklace and Nude Ballerina Flats with Marcasite Studded Bow.

Denim Duo

Every time I drop by my closet I pull out a few articles of clothing and build an outfit or two.  This is my denim duo that I put together for a casual Springtime party or just running around doing errands.  Jeans go with everything and any color, and there is nothing better than a pair of jeans that are "broken in", so comfy!  So pull out your favorite denim for the very cool Spring weather we are having right now. Summer is peeking around the corner.

Left - The three basics - skirt, t-shirt, denim jacket. Switch out the orange and use a different color.
Right - The three basics - denim boyfriend jeans, ruffled tank top, striped jacket.  Switch out the heels for flats, it's easy dressing a lot of different ways.

The Fashion Plate

Yes that's me!  I must have been about 4 or 5 years old in this picture and it is the very early 1960's.  As you can see, I was fashionable back then.  I have my beret on, heels and my clutch bag which were very popular then.  If you look closely I even have my gloves in my clutch.  Every classy lady wore her gloves back in those days.  Oh yeah, I was a fashion plate!  And, I still love clothes.....

I put this outfit together to wear to dinner and a movie:
Navy blue and white polka dot top w/navy cami $34.99 - Avenue
White skinny jeans $18.99 - WalMart
Navy and white sandals $24.99 - Marshalls
Handbag $14.99 - Dress Barn
Necklace and earring set $5.99 - Gabriel Brothers
Bracelet $7.50 - Avenue

I love, love, love animal prints they never go out of style.
I picked this raincoat up at KMart for $10.00!  It was on a clearance rack and originally priced at $49.99.  Always, always check clearance racks first, the best bargains are there.  I never pay full price for anything.  The scarf was brand new, still in the package, and I paid $5.00 for it at Rice's Flea Market.

I put this outfit together to go to the grocery store.
White Jean Jacket $24.99 - Avenue
Purple print embellished neck bubble top $3.00 - WalMart (that's right 3 bucks!)
Denim skinny jeans $8.00 - WalMart
Black patent t-strap wedgies $24.99 - Marshalls
Purple beaded earrings and bracelet  $19.00 - Kohl's

As I said before, I never pay full price for anything.  Whether it be items for the house, the car, clothing or whatever has to be purchased.  Check clearance first.  All stores have clearance racks.  If you find anything minor wrong with your items always ask for more of a discount.  Here is a famous quote from my mother "you don't get what you don't ask for".
