PEASANT-ly Surprized!

I like my tops to fit me loose, not tight on my body.  My midsection, I am sad to say, has grown somewhat in my upper years, so camouflaging that part is essential for me.  There is nothing worse than to wear clothing that does not fit because it's too small or too big, that is uncomfortable.  Tight pants, blouses and tops I think make you look bigger and show EVERYTHING, ya know what I'm talkin' about!  Hey, I'm a big girl and no one wants to see all of me, and I mean ALL of me, get my drift.  And, if clothing is too big, it makes you look bigger than you are.  You can look stylish and chic in clothes that fit you, take the extra minutes to try clothing on when you are shopping.  Sizes are cut differently for brands that sell clothing, you may be one size in one brand and a bigger or smaller in another.

Enter the peasant blouse, it hides a multitude of sins but has a fit to your body.  I have been a fan of the peasant blouse since the 70's (I was a lot thinner back then!), today it's called BOHO for The Bohemian Look, reminiscent of the Flower Power days of the late 1960's and 1970's. These are some of the blouses I have in my wardrobe that I paired with leggings and jeans, check them out.

My Boyfriend's Back!

OMG! I am sick of this weather. Snow, snow and more snow. Almost everyday there is some kind of snow.  I was tired of being couped up in the house, braved the cold and did a  little coupon shopping. I never leave home without them, my handbag actually has a neat and organized coupon envelope in it, so I always have them with me.  As soon as they arrive in the mail, I cut them out and they get stashed in my handbag.  I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans at Dressbarn and I love the fit, they are perfect and can be paired with anything.  Check them out.

Retail Therapy For Me!

So my youngest is gone for the school year, she left for Paris last Wednesday.  A lot of tears shed at home, on the ride to the airport, and at the airport.  I've been recuperating since then, that's why there hasn't been a blog.  They say give your children wings and they will fly, I did, but now I am sad that she is gone.  I know she will do very well, and I am happy about that.  She has already sent pictures, of her and friends, drinking champagne by the Seine.  I should be drinking the champagne! I am the one with all the stress of her leaving.  So to de-stress my world, I treated myself to a few new things.  After all, I have been saving all year for her to have the time of her life.

A few of the pieces I purchased for Fall and Winter.  All were on sale and I had coupons, you can't beat that.
Oatmeal Heathered Drape Sweater - Ross
Bittersweet Waist Buckle Sweater - Dressbarn
Navy Faux Leather Jacket with Zipper Detail - Dressbarn
The pocket detail and the color is what drew me to this jacket.  It is very hard to find anything in navy blue.

Blue Jeans Times Two

I have been a clothes hog since I had my first job in high school.  I would spend almost my whole paycheck on clothes, shoes, jewelry and handbags.  I still love clothes, but try to get more out of my pieces with creative ways to wear them. I took a dark wash pair of skinny jeans and paired them two ways.  Check them out.

Dark Skinny Jeans, Grey T- Shirt, Camel Leather Jacket, Red and Navy Flats, Red Bead and Metal Necklace and Red and Ivory Twisted Rope Bracelet.
Dark Skinny Jeans - rolled up, Coral Lace Tank Top, Oatmeal Sweater, Iridescent Silver Bead Chain Necklace and Nude Ballerina Flats with Marcasite Studded Bow.

Three Easy Pieces

I like to have easy outfits on hand, for when I have to leave the house for anything, but I want to look put together.  I always have an outfit ready to wear hanging in the closet, I know call me crazy. I am NOT a sweats and t-shirt kind of girl when it comes to going out, even just to the grocery store.  I always want to look my best.  Jeez, you never know who you are going to see!  Don't want anyone talking about how I looked sloppy behind my back.  What annoys me most is when I see people, women mostly, going out in public in their PJ's.  Got that picture in your head? They were made for home lounging not going out in public!  For Pete's sake people, put some clothes on please! Now you see why I always get dressed.  OK, I vented, and I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE THAT THINKS LIKE THIS!

What brought some of this on, it's time to clean my closet out again, it's quite a job.  I never want to get rid of anything. And why is that?  I haven't worn some things in a while, so why not give someone else a chance to enjoy my taste in fashion, that's how I look at it.  I will clean out the closet and donate to my local thrift store, the profits go to charity, so double good for me.  So, while I was in the closet pondering about the cleaning out, I put together a few outfits to run errands in, with three easy pieces of clothing, a pair of shoes and jewelry, it's as simple as that.

Dark Green Leather Jacket, Floral Silk Top, Dark Skinny Jeans, Plum Rhinestone Flats, Silver Triple Strand Necklace and Silver and Green Bead Earrings
Maroon Leather Jacket, Leopard Print Button Down Top, Dark Skinny Jeans, Maroon Bow Flats, Gold Coin Necklace, Gold Rhinestone Bracelet and Gold Coin Earrings

Blue, Gray and Black Leopard Print Band Top, Dark Skinny Jeans, Royal Blue and Teal Bow Flats, Silver Triple Strand Necklace, Silver and Gold Bracelet and Shades of Blue Drop Earrings

I'm A Little Edgy

I put together this little edgy look, from some things I pulled out of my closet.  I paired a leather jacket and lace skirt, that are more on the softer side and not the hardcore rocker side.  You could wear this outfit anywhere, it's fresh, modern, and I think anyone of any age could pull this outfit off.

Black Lace Overlay Skirt - Dressbarn
Red Cami Top with Knot Detail - Marshall's
