PEASANT-ly Surprized!

I like my tops to fit me loose, not tight on my body.  My midsection, I am sad to say, has grown somewhat in my upper years, so camouflaging that part is essential for me.  There is nothing worse than to wear clothing that does not fit because it's too small or too big, that is uncomfortable.  Tight pants, blouses and tops I think make you look bigger and show EVERYTHING, ya know what I'm talkin' about!  Hey, I'm a big girl and no one wants to see all of me, and I mean ALL of me, get my drift.  And, if clothing is too big, it makes you look bigger than you are.  You can look stylish and chic in clothes that fit you, take the extra minutes to try clothing on when you are shopping.  Sizes are cut differently for brands that sell clothing, you may be one size in one brand and a bigger or smaller in another.

Enter the peasant blouse, it hides a multitude of sins but has a fit to your body.  I have been a fan of the peasant blouse since the 70's (I was a lot thinner back then!), today it's called BOHO for The Bohemian Look, reminiscent of the Flower Power days of the late 1960's and 1970's. These are some of the blouses I have in my wardrobe that I paired with leggings and jeans, check them out.

The Tops

I added these two tops, that I have had my eye on, to my wardrobe recently.  The one on the right is really a cobalt blue it looks darker than that in this picture, I don't think the lighting in my closet was all that good when I photographed it.  I don't have anything in my closet that is this color, and I needed to add it.  I am never drawn to shades of blue when purchasing clothing, I don't know why.  I thought I would add this color, to see how it looks with a a lot of other pieces I already have.  The draped neckline is ideal for long and short necklaces or earrings, and the length is perfect for belting.  The fit on this top is great, I can't wait for the cooler weather to wear it.

I adore leopard print and think every woman should have at least one piece of clothing, or one accessory, in leopard print in her wardrobe.  This blouse on the left feels like silk, but costs much less.  It has an elongated neckline and a collar that can be left up, or folded down if you like.  This blouse is also perfect for wearing with leggings because it lays right to the hips.  Throw on a jacket and you're done with three easy pieces.  This is also perfect for all the colors of Fall, it will go with orange, red, green, black, brown, tan, jeans and many other colors.  Dress it up or dress it down, it will always look great!  Both of these pieces were purchased at Dressbarn, with you guessed it, COUPONS!  I don't leave home without them, why pay full price when you don't have too.

Fashion Forward with Coupons!

Lets talk about fashion.  I never believed that fashion is what is in style. What I believe is, fashion is what looks good on you.  If a mini skirt looks good on my 18 year old, it certainly will not look good on me.  I try to pick pieces that will hold on for awhile, not trendy, or pieces that I can  pair with something else later as fashion changes. As I have said before, shop with coupons, don't be afraid to use them or embarrassed to use them, you will save money and lots of it.  Most stores that I shop email or mail me coupons to use.
