Fashion Thursday - Shopping At The Mart

I am so excited, a new Stein Mart opened in our area, I have never shopped at this store before.  I went with my good friend, girl's day out, spent a few hours shopping and then we had a nice lunch.  I am ready to say, I LIVE THIS STORE!  Great discounts, quality clothing, designer shoes and things for the home. Everything in one store makes it one stop shopping.

So, I got this floral skirted striped bodice dress, don't really wear dresses that often, but I have been seeing a lot of this style in all the magazines and sale papers.  I bought one for summer, you can dress it up or down as I did with black caged sandals or navy gladiator sandal (both from Dressbarn) and denim jacket that I already had.  Nice for a Spring or Summer evening out with the hubby.
Stepped out of the box with this outfit, but I love it!  It's comfortable and stylish.  Navy, white and fuchsia palazzo pants, crocheted trim peasant blouse and navy gladiator sandals.
This hi-low, gold beaded trim, scoop neck top, was paired with leopard print jeans, black caged sandals, coral clutch and gold jewelry I already had.  I see another fun night out soon!
My new fav boyfriend jeans, paired with a white crocheted top and matching tank, navy and white Jack Rogers sandals, coral bag and jewelry, for a cool Summer night out.

Fashion Tuesday - Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend Jeans, if you don't own a pair, get a pair!  They are the best jeans I have ever worn.  Let me just say why they are my favorite pair of jeans, 1) they are forgiving, 2) they are comfortable, and 3) they are versatile, you can dress them up or down.  What more could you ask for in a pair of jeans? I bought mine at Dressbarn, I started out with one pair, then ran back and bought another, with coupons of course, don't leave home without them. These fit perfect, no pinching, no riding up or falling down, they have stretch in them and you look great when you're wearing them!
To view photos in a larger format, click on them.

I paired them with this top and sandals from Dressbarn...
With this cardigan from Dressbarn, a tank and gladiator sandals.
Orange and white stripe t-shirt and navy gladiator sandals from Dressbarn, necklace and earrings from Kohl's.
White jacket with zipper detail, mint green t-shirt, jewelry all from Dressbarn, and gladiator sandal.  Coupons ladies, coupons!  You will save a lot of money and look great!
Oh, I forgot these, I picked up this Rain/Trench coat at Dressbarn and the yellow top with zipper detail. Paired the top with black and white patterned ankle pants, black blazer, black pumps and black and dark teal jewelry.

Happy, Happy Colors

Spring has sprung!  So I did a little discount shopping last week, with coupons of course, I don't leave home without them. Why pay full price when you don't have too is what I say! Today, having some girl time with a great friend, more discount shopping at our new Stein Mart, and then off to a nice lunch.  What a great way to spend a Spring day.

There are so many pretty colors for this season of Spring, and I can't wait to wear them all.  I was so excited about my finds, that I didn't pair them with anything, I just threw them on my form to show you.

I have been wanting a kimono since last year, well I finally found one at Dressbarn.  Floral Kimono was $25.00 got 20% off.
Love this pale coral/pink, long top with stitching detail and chiffon shirttail at TJMaxx for $19.99.
I love yellow, it's so happy, sunny and bright.  Long, sleeveless top with zipper detail was $34.00, with 20% off $27.20.
I don't have a lot of green in my wardrobe, so I thought why not, you have a Dressbarn coupon. Kelly Green Popover Top was $34.00, with 20% off $27.20.
And you can never go wrong with turquoise.  Long top with chiffon shirttail and zipper at detail at TJMaxx for $19.99.

Color Me Pretty Flower Necklaces!

I just got the buy of the week, I am so happy!  I was browsing in Walmart looking for garden stuff and things for the deck, and in one of the center clearance aisles were these pretty little babies, statement necklaces, that caught my eye!  I had to do a double take, even with my glasses on I couldn't believe how much they were - $1.00 ladies, yes that's right a buck each.  COME ON!  Where can you get something so cute for $1.00?  NO WHERE?!  As you can see I filled up the bottom of my cart with them.  There were more, but I already had necklaces in those colors so I didn't partake in them, didn't want to be hoggish about such a good sale, left some for others to enjoy.  These were on either gold or silver chains, and for $1.00 if I just wear it once and it breaks I got my money's worth out of it.  I don't think that will happen they aren't made that cheap, and I do take care of  my things, but you never know.  Like I always say, take your tiime, browse around a store and you never know what you'll find!

Filled up my basket, I can't pass up a deal!
$11.00 for eleven necklaces!  That right there is just plain crazy.
And here they all are for their close up!  Check them out.....
 Pretty colors....
 Rhinestone center flowers....
I thought the gold was pretty, don't see much in that color and you can wear it all year round....
I love them all but this beige, coral and white is my favorite....
So what do you think?   Good, right?

Keeping "The Girls" Happy!

The hubby and I are still spreading dirt/mulch for the last two weeks, it's a chore to say the least.  He works all week so it has to be done on the weekends.  We met up on Friday night and treated ouselves, after him working all day at his job, at the local mall for dinner at a nice restaurant.  After our big meal, we decided to walk some of it off around the mall and do some shopping.  I came across this new store called SOMA, it's an intimate apparel store.  I had read and heard about this store and how great they were, no high pressure sales which I love, so I went in and checked them out.  Wow, I was impressed.  I only ever had one bra fitting in my whole life and thought I knew what I was doing when it came to fitting myself.  Boy, was I wrong!

I was greeting by a nice young lady who asked if I needed help and I said "sure".  I wanted to be fitted for bras, she ask me to pick out what I liked and didn't like and what colors I was looking for.  She then sent me into a dressing room and measured me.   She immediately jumped into action while I waited in the dressing room.  I have to tell you, all bras ARE NOT MADE ALIKE AND SIZES RUN DIFFERENT!  I amazingly was wearing the right size, but my bras didn't fit right, the cups were off.  In the SOMA brand bras I had to go up a few cup sizes, which is OK (I am blessed!), it doesn't really mean anything to me other than it fits and feels perfect.  The bands on the sides are doubled and sturdy, nothing falling over the sides like my other bras.  The straps are padded and perfect, soft underwires and barely padded cups, I don't need any more padding with a double D cup!

My philosophy, keep the girls, tatas, boobs, sweater puppies, whatever you call them, H-A-P-P-Y, and they will make you look good and feel good about yourself.  A great bra keeps everything where it belongs, makes you look slimmer because everything is up, where it's supposed to be, cuts down on the backfat and the bulge too.  I give SOMA an A+ for helping me out, I will be going back to replace all of my bras.

I bought two bras while I was shopping, one light nude and one soft tan.  Don't look at the price, you know I don't shop without a discount, I got 20% off each bra so they were only $44.80 each, not a bad price.  Hey, you have to pay good money for something great, these are well constructed bras and worth every penny!

A Little Spring In My Step!

Well, it's supposed to be Spring but you wouldn't know it by looking out the window and feeling the temperatures when you walk outside.  It's currently 45 degrees, damp, and the sun is nowhere in sight.  What kind of Spring is this!? I want the sun, I need the sun (vitamin D deficient).  This weather has got me down, so what do I do all day since I have to be inside?  I at least try to make myself feel better and put a little spring in my step, by going into my happy place, my closet.  I spend time in there putting together some outfits to grab when I am in a hurry to get dressed and go (once the sun finally shows it's face!!!)
I had my eyes on this car length coat for a few weeks at Marshall's, but didn't want to pay the price.  It was originally being sold for $110, Marshall's was selling it for $59.99, too high for me, it was reduced to $39.00, waited it out and finally picked it up on the clearance rack for $29.00, YAY for me, and it fits perfect!

Let Me Make It CLEARance!

I had all intentions of just going to the grocery store with the hubby on Saturday, Valentine's Day, and as we were pulling in to the parking lot of the shopping center my husband says, "oh look a Dressbarn!", I said I was there the other day, he says, "well since it's Valentine's Day do you want to go in before we go shopping?", he is such a good husband, we don't really exchange gifts for Valentine's Day. Well, I couldn't turn that down, so in I went and this is what I found on clearance.  I always have my handbag stashed with coupons, and I just happened to  have three of them, one for 30% off 1 clearance item, and two 20% off  for any items in the store.  The earrings, all four pair, were on a 40% off clearance rack, so I scooped them up. After purchasing my items I also received a $15.00 off coupon for my next shopping trip in the near future, gotta love that store!  Why pay full price for anyhing if you don't have too. I will wait for coupons or a sale,  for something that I want or need, I will also check different stores if the store I use doesn't have what I want.  Do a little footwork, it will definitley save you money.

PEASANT-ly Surprized!

I like my tops to fit me loose, not tight on my body.  My midsection, I am sad to say, has grown somewhat in my upper years, so camouflaging that part is essential for me.  There is nothing worse than to wear clothing that does not fit because it's too small or too big, that is uncomfortable.  Tight pants, blouses and tops I think make you look bigger and show EVERYTHING, ya know what I'm talkin' about!  Hey, I'm a big girl and no one wants to see all of me, and I mean ALL of me, get my drift.  And, if clothing is too big, it makes you look bigger than you are.  You can look stylish and chic in clothes that fit you, take the extra minutes to try clothing on when you are shopping.  Sizes are cut differently for brands that sell clothing, you may be one size in one brand and a bigger or smaller in another.

Enter the peasant blouse, it hides a multitude of sins but has a fit to your body.  I have been a fan of the peasant blouse since the 70's (I was a lot thinner back then!), today it's called BOHO for The Bohemian Look, reminiscent of the Flower Power days of the late 1960's and 1970's. These are some of the blouses I have in my wardrobe that I paired with leggings and jeans, check them out.

My Boyfriend's Back!

OMG! I am sick of this weather. Snow, snow and more snow. Almost everyday there is some kind of snow.  I was tired of being couped up in the house, braved the cold and did a  little coupon shopping. I never leave home without them, my handbag actually has a neat and organized coupon envelope in it, so I always have them with me.  As soon as they arrive in the mail, I cut them out and they get stashed in my handbag.  I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans at Dressbarn and I love the fit, they are perfect and can be paired with anything.  Check them out.
