Growing up I always heard the word Muffler when someone was talking about a scarf. I always thought that word pertained to a car, silly me, it's also a fancy word for a scarf. No one uses that word any more, we now use scarf, pashmina, shawl, stole or wrap. Funny how the times change, and so do the words we use to describe something. I lined up some of my scarves, that I will wear during this cold season, and tied and wrapped them in all different ways. Take a look.
Left: Fold scarf in half, pull one end through the fold to the right, pull the other end through the fold to the left.
Right: Fold in half, wrap around the neck, and then pull both ends through the fold and let the ends hang.
Left: Wrap scarf around the neck from front to back, pull ends hanging in the back through the center and flatten.
Right: Double wrap scarf and pull ends up and over the the center. Ends do not have to be even, that's what keeps it interesting.
Left: Wrap scarf around the neck from front to back, pull ends hanging in the back to the front and soft tie it slightly off to the side.
Right: Wrap scarf from back to front of neck, soft tie, ends hanging, pull one end up and fold over halfway, let hang.
Double wrap a long scarf starting at the back of the neck, wrap around so ends are in front. Tie ends loosely to the side, let one end hang in front and one end hang in back.
